Beautiful Mea Shearim
I walked through Mea Shearim (in fact, got quite lost there), the Ultra-Orthodox neighborhood of Jerusalem, and absolutely loved it. It feels like stepping back a century into Jewish Poland. I dressed conservatively, and felt somewhat welcomed by the religious vendors and pedestrians, despite some unfriendly stories I've heard. The best part were the laundry lines, all spotless white in the breeze. Also, the small orthodox children running around the streets were irresistable.
