Personal Biography

Qiong Lin is a sophomore at Brandeis University with tentative majors in Politics and Health: Science, Society and Policy. She was born in Fujian, China and raised in New York City. Qiong is a first generation college student and a Brandeis Posse Scholar. Currently, she is the Co-President of the Brandeis Chinese Cultural Connection and National Collegiate Volunteers, where she assists in establishing and implementing a low-cost health care database for the citizens of New Orleans. As a Chinese-American who grew up in an immigrant community on the Lower East Side, Qiong hopes that her experience in Mexico will help demystify misconceptions around Mexican immigration and obtain new insight on US immigration policies.
